The mountain village of Tejeda is situated in the central mountains of Gran
Canaria.
Every day, many tourists visit this beautiful place. Tejeda is located approximately
24 kilometer south of Valleseco.
White houses are surrounded by beautiful nature, such as almond trees.
The village has beautiful views and a number of souvenir shops where you
can buy dilicious sweets. The typical marzipan with honey and almonds. Lunch
Restaurant: "Parador", a draft of Nestor de la Torre, was built
in 1938 as a hotel. The Spanish writer and philosopher Miguel de Unamuno
(1864-1936) compared the views from the terrace of the dining room at the
Roque Nublo with "a hurricane in stone".
At seven kilometers away (north) you´ll find Cruz de Tejeda. a stone
cross at the highest point (1450 meter) of the pass on the Cumbre mountain
massif. Some of the mountaintops reach to almost 2000 meter altitude.
The highest peak is the Pozo de las Nievas (1949 meter).
The most famous is the Roque Nublo summit (1813 meter).
